The NFL 2 minute drill arcade game
The coin-operated NFL 2 Minute Drill is a football-throwing redemption game made by Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (ICE). The New Jersey amusement-game certification describes it as a single-player game: you throw footballs at three targets on the back plane of the cabinet, each hit adds points, and when the play clock ends (30 seconds by default) the machine pays out tickets based on your score. It is a skill game, so unlike our two minute drill game there is nothing to simulate and no play calling. Read more on the arcade game page.
The 2-Minute Drill TV game show
ESPN aired a trivia show called 2-Minute Drill, hosted by Kenny Mayne, from September 2000 to December 2001. Contestants had two minutes to answer sports questions. It shares only a name with the football games. See the game show page.
The real two minute drill
In the NFL the two minute drill is the offense's hurry-up plan before halftime or the end of the game. The league's two-minute warning stops the clock at 2:00 in the second and fourth quarters, and teams then use timeouts, sideline throws and spikes to save seconds. Our guide to NFL clock rules in the last two minutes covers exactly how the clock works.
Not the same as Krillion
If you landed here from a search that mixed "Krillion" with "two minute drill": Krillion is an unrelated daily trivia game. Its own site describes seven questions with 25 seconds each. It is not a football game and has nothing to do with this site.
